From a very young age, I developed a love for a variety of sports including gymnastics, volleyball and basketball. I thrived on the competition and team camaraderie. After high school, I obtained a degree in Radiography and currently employed as a PACS Administrator.
I started CrossFit in 2013 after I had knee surgery and was struggling getting back into my fitness routine without experiencing pain. I fell in love with CrossFit from the moment I did that first excruciating WOD and have never looked back. In 2017, I received my Level 1 Certification. I currently am an assistant coach for Kids CrossFit classes as well as regular CrossFit classes. It’s vital for me to live as an example to my two girls and showcase dedication, self confidence and the willingness to fail at the risk of succeeding! Jeremy is looking forward to attending more competitions as a coach versus as a competitor and working with athletes to prepare for upcoming WODS. "CrossFit is great. The workouts are amazing. They can be scaled to fit anyone's ability. It doesn't matter if you're 20 years old, 70 years old or if fitness has or hasn't been a part of your life. CrossFit is for everyone. But the best part about CrossFit is the community aspect. I've never seen anything like it. When you go to a competition or the gym for a WOD, everyone pushes each other to the best they can. It's non-stop motivation and support. justin: athletic coach
I grew up very active in sports and went on to play football in college. I have always worked out in some capacity throughout my life. My wife started to do CrossFit and she wanted me to try it out. So after awhile I decided to go to a WOD with her. My first WOD was MURPH. I really enjoyed it and the competitiveness of it so I decided to start going regularly. I am a firefighter/paramedic so staying in shape is something I need to do and CrossFit helps me to do just that. I wanted to learn more and help others with learn so I was happy to take my L1. I may not get to coach very often between being a firefighter/paramedic, teaching at MATC and having two great little girls but when I can I enjoy everything about it.
Rita: athletic coachGrowing up my parents let me eat whatever I wanted which resulted in a lifetime of struggling with my weight. I wasn’t athletic in school and didn’t enjoy recreational sports at all. After the birth of my children I found myself overweight and not happy with how I looked. Over 10 years ago I was introduced to CrossFit and the transformation began. I found the CrossFit model to be just what I needed. There is always a variety of cardiovascular and strength training workouts so the exercise never gets boring. In addition to becoming more physically fit I also learned to eat to fuel my body and I lost the baby weight! I learned how to do olympic lifts such as deadlifts, presses, etc. I found out I could be athletic through CrossFit!
I have taken the Judges course, completed The Gymnastics course March, 2021 and earned my CrossFit Level 1 Trainer certification in January, 2022. I am 54 years old, and my fitness goals are maintaining my weight and avoiding any medication that usually comes along with aging. I do not currently take any medication, and hope to keep it that way by continuing to exercise for fitness and by eating following the CrossFit model most of the time. Another goal is to complete the Scaling Course and the Coaching the Aging Athlete Course. I enjoy coaching at MachineLab CrossFit and hope to continue for years to come. I have made many lifetime friends and love the culture that comes with group fitness. It doesn’t matter how much you weigh or if you have limitations of some kind. For example, if you can’t run or aren’t ready to run you can bike or row. If you can’t do a pull up you can do a jump pull up. If you are looking to make a change in your life to lose weight, eliminate medications for high blood pressure, high cholesterol, or diabetes, go to the Contact Us link and ask to talk to the owner, Serina Seiler about how CrossFit can change your life like it changed mine! |
CARLY: ATHLETIC COACH
CF-L2 Trainer, CrossFit Gymnastics Certification, CrossFit Anatomy Course, CrossFit Spot the Flaw Course, CrossFit Scalability Course, CrossFit Judges Course
Growing up with brothers, I found an instant love for sport and an unyielding desire to keep up with them in everything they did. At an early age I started gymnastics as well as playing basketball, softball, and volleyball, and later played soccer for a short time. In High School I started my career playing on the Varsity basketball team as a freshman. My season, however, fell short after a nasty ACL and Meniscus tear. In addition to that, I had multiple compartment surgeries in my calves the same year, and later tore my Meniscus twice in softball. That being said, my athletic career quickly turned into a long physical and mental battle of getting back to where I was before my injuries instead of simply trying to excel in the sport. It was a long journey, but I finished my high school career as a 4-year letter winner and a tri-sport athlete with a lot more to prove. After playing sports on and off after school, I was eventually told that I may need a cartilage transplant or something even more serious for my knee. I decided that I needed to change the way I was training to minimize the damage I was doing from previous injury. For the next year or so I weightlifted and did a lot of steady cardio. I realized that I was starting to get bored easily with this routine, and had to find something more to fill the void. After doing some functional training, spin classes, and HIIT workouts in addition to lifting weights, I was still missing that aspect of the sport that I wasn’t able to fulfill entirely by training in this environment. In agreeing to try CrossFit out with my trainer, I fell in love instantly- with the people, the workouts, the support, and the competition. What they say about the CrossFit as a community is something you have to experience for yourself to truly understand. Since my CrossFit journey began, I have kept my knee pain to a minimum and gained so much physically and mentally as an athlete and person. My favorite lift is any form of the clean, but I will forever love the complexity of the snatch as we all continually work towards perfecting it. I’m also a huge fan or burpees in any form- such a simple full-body movement that will leave you humbled. When I’m not training or coaching I love spending time with every and all dogs, taking my road bike out, being outdoors, spending time laughing with my amazing family, and setting new PRs as an aunt to my nephews- Grady and Parker, and niece-Nora. mike & rachel: coaches
Rachel Nachreiner, CFL1 Coach & CrossFit Kids Assistant Coach
Mike Nachreiner, Assistant Coach As college athletes, we both spent endless hours training for sports that we loved, so once that was all overwith, we both felt a little lost. We had both been physically active all of our lives, usually engaged in weightlifting and sport-specific training, so we needed something in our newly established, post-college lives that not only kept us healthy and active but that also channeled our competitive spirits. Luckily, we found CrossFit! We have both been doing CrossFit since 2011 and love the diversity and challenge each workout brings. What we love most about CrossFit, though, is the community of amazing athletes that we get to be a part of…athletes who come from all walks of life and experiences, athletes who push us to be our best, who pick us up when we’re down and who are there for us no matter what; athletes that embrace who we are and yet never let us lose sight of who we want to be. We are truly blessed to be a part of this community, to raise our 3 boys knowing how friendship and fitness go hand in hand, and now, as coaches, to welcome others to this amazing community and help them become the best versions of themselves. If you’re at a point in your life where you’re feeling a little lost, no matter what your fitness background may be, come and give CrossFit a try…there’s so much to love about what happens here and so many amazing people to support you along your journey! Come join us! nikki: athletic coach
MachineLab CFL1 Coach and CrossFit Kids Assistant Coach.
I truly believe CrossFit can change your life! After having my second daughter in 2014, and being a stay at home mom, my husband encouraged me to do something for myself. I found CrossFit! Stepping into the box for the first time was one of the best decisions I have ever made. I am now the fittest and strongest have ever been! I love the quote " stronger then yesterday" I believe CrossFit makes you stronger everyday not only physically but mentally. The community at MachineLab is the most encouraging group of people I have ever been around, and I am now lucky enough to call some of them my closest friends. CrossFit has made my life better and I now look forward to coaching and helping others live a healthy fit life! |
